Designer Stationery
Designer stationery is a term used to cover a wide range of stationery items each based on a unique design or concept. A good deal of designer stationery is about graphic design printed onto paper.
Designer Stationery: Designing with materials:
At Corban & Blair our designer stationery relies on both graphic design, and design shaped from materials. Shaping design from raw materials poses issues often associated with the work of a sculptor! It is certainly a true art form to take a large piece of marble and carve a statue such as Michael Angelos’ David, and it is still an art form that takes leather hide and woven fabric combining them to make beautiful albums, journals and accessories.
Carnival – the designer stationery range featured below, uses cow hide - usually associated with good quality shoes or handbags, and fabric, woven in France at the very old Espadril Factory. The bright striped canvas, once used on women’s shoes, is now associated more with deck chairs and seat cushions.

The Carnival designer stationery collection combines each raw element in a unique, and smart design and was conceived by a Corban & Blair designer. Released in two colour ways Brown and Red, it was made in Australia, and is a limited edition.
Designer Stationery: Using graphic design:
Beautiful graphic design can enhance many paper products. Here in this range called Antoinette it has been finished with gold and silver to add to the romance of the range. The concept for the design was inspired by the film “Antoinette’ with its luxurious clothes, furnishings, drapes and wall papers. The film was set in an era filled with romance and elegance. Our designer stationery album design embodies the passion for that era and offers its user a beautiful product to archive those special memories.

This design combines three individual concepts, weaving them magically together by dividing each then overlapping the three with de-bossed gold or silver. The large heavy scrolled section was chosen to head the complete pattern like a wall paper from a ballroom. Juxtaposed with this is a more subtle and elegant floral such as found on lace trims of ball gowns and underwear. The whole image is one of luxury, appealing to our visual sense as well as touch.
The Antoinette designer stationery range was created by a Corban & Blair designer, printed and manufactured in Australia. It contains albums and journals and is a limited edition range.
